This web site has been prepared on the occasion of Mark's 50th yes 50th birthday.   Now all of his friends at this momentous, and most unexpected event wish to thoroughly embarass him.    This is not because he has done anything in his past life to cause his friends any real reason to do this.     On the contrary, he is essentially generous, kind, caring and loved by all who know him.  

So why would these friends, acquired over a lifetime of association with such a man, do this?   Probably because they are mean spirited, have nothing better to do with their time, they are getting a bit long in the tooth themselves and they do want to be absolutely sure that the whole world knows that he has reached five-zero.

So, firstly, who is Mark Langdon, you will be asking?   If you don't already know this, then why are you visiting this web site?   Surely you have something better to do with your time.    Go away.   

This is a brief history, and the historian in this case apologises for any serious errors or omissions and does not tell the entire truth.

Born in Auckland, New Zealand.  Mark joined the computer industry, working for DataBank NZ for a few years.  He quickly grasped that the world was bigger than he first thought.. and it wasn't long before he was away...after circling the globe a couple of times, he settled on Bondi Beach or somewhere near there.        

Around 1976, he joined Honeywell Information Systems as a sales representative.   His first task was to get a haircut, but he did in fact ignore the advice of his managers for a couple of years.   See photos on following pages!
